para8Paracinema is back again with another great issue. Issue 8 has the magazine truly growing with its most diverse issue yet. Tthis issue includes two articles celebrating Tommy Wiseau’s “The Room” (A film that I did not enjoy, but in its defense have not seen in its entirety). Even if you’re not a fan of that film, issue 8 still has lots of great perspectives to offer on cult film including essays on films like “The Road Warrior” and “Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer”. Click inside to see some highlights!! And be sure to check them out at

Issue 8 Highlights:

“War May Be Hell, But a Sequel Is Purgatory: Thematic Combat With Battle Royale II: Requiem”: Emily Intravia’s worthy in depth plea of respect for one of the worst sequels to one of the best films ever made has actually made me want to watch “Requiem” again. A film of which I said I’d rather stick pins in my genitals than rather sit through again, so nicely done Emily, or maybe not. Well, at least the article is good.

“Jim Wynorski’s Munchie Strikes Back: Paracinema’s Parents’ Manual For Little Billy’s Question: ‘Why Is The TV Puppet Telling Me To Vote Democrat?”: A funny and though provoking article on the secret liberal agenda hidden beneath the surface of schlockmeister Wynorski’s sequel to “Munchie” that includes a brief interview is absolutely priceless, and again, the fact that that could analyze a film like “Munchie Strikes Back” this deep is why I love Paracinema so much.

“A Room Of One’s Own: An Account of A Failed Interview”: I love magazine articles that relay a deeply personal account of a moment of time, it makes the article more real to me reading it from a first person’s perspective. Miles Lemaire’s self depreciating account of his lost interview with Wiseau gives us a peek into what a funny and fair minded person he is. He turns what could have been a disaster into an interesting hodge podge of his thoughts of “The Room”, Wiseau, and “bad movies” in general.

To add to these highlights, there’s a short, but great article on Mr. T’s self help video, a fav of mine as a kid, a deeply personal article on the summer of ’82 focusing on “Road Warrior”, and several other interesting tidbits on Kubrick, Vans in cinema, as well as  various other awesomeness. And as with the previous issues, the art and layout are both top notch, even with the quite scary cover of the mug of Tommy Wiseau glaring at you. So, as always, fans of the cinema of cult need to pick this up immediately!! It is one of the best magazines out there.
